[work-in-progress] yellow
"There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot, but there are others who, thanks to their art and intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun."
- Pablo Picasso
although I've been thinking an awful lot about blue lately, since I have a collaboration about to start with one of the most talented & amazing artists that I'm grateful to know (more on that soon), I've also started some new prints with the first color being the brightest & applying it by using the vandercook like a really really heavy paintbrush, as #letterpressIsntJustForLetters, & I can't wait to see how this unfolds!
march on & on
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
― Martin Luther King Jr.
#LOVE, no matter who you are, let's come together❤ grateful for the hundreds of people that came thru & printed tshirts + protest posters, all the shirt money is going to the local rape crisis & women protective services & the posters were free! #freedomofthepress
I'm speechless with all the love & support & community & more that took place today when it was really needed, here & my loves in DC/Austin/everywhere, & I went to a fancy art fundraiser later that evening with ink still stained on my hands (even after taking a shower) & couldn't be happier bc it goes with the #lbd here in the #lbk!

three artworks donated, & attending as part of CASP at Charles Adams' table!
The Medici Circle is a Lubbock community volunteer group supporting School of Art through friends-raising and fund-raising for art scholarships. Since 2005, when the group first formed, the Medici Circle has successfully created or augmented nearly $400,000 in art scholarship endowments through membership dues and annual fundraisers.
Medici Circle’s primary annual fundraiser is the much enjoyed 5x7 Art Scholarship Fundraiser. This event provides a delightful mix of art, food, drink, and wild fun during the “art grab.” This year's Coolsville-Rocking the 50s themed party will be held on january 21 2017 at the Lubbock Country Club- save the date. More details coming soon.
This year revenues from Medici Circle endowments provided scholarships to ten graduate and undergraduate scholars in the different areas of study at the School of Art. Because the Medici Circle continues to help create new endowments each year, the numbers and amounts of scholarships have steadily increased since 2008 when the first Medici Circle scholarship made.
