&

Saturday, August 27th: 10am-12Noon

(then free access to open studio hours on both Saturdays, until 6pm)

Join the analog revival & learn the art of letterpress printing at the Helen DeVitt Jones Print Studio at CASP! Students will learn how to hand-set type from our expanding collection of metal & wood typefaces; proper use of the Vandercook SP-15 & other proof/relief presses in the Helen DeVitt Jones Print Studio; use vintage plates from our quirky collection; layout of the California Job Case; experimental + alternative printing techniques, & more!

Instruction will be for two hours, then students can use the listed open studio hours to work on projects. Projects may include group letterpress posters, one & multicolor prints, stationary, individual broadsides, printing on fabric, printing on t-shirts, & more.

No previous experience required, but helpful if you have enrolled in one of our beginner courses (don't worry, I'll catch you up to speed if not). This course is designed to educate about the basics & some skills beyond, in letterpress. After completion you will feel confident to letterpress print any projects during CASP's open studio hours.

Course Fee: TBD (includes paper & ink. Plus, access for up to ten open studio hours!)

Space is limited! Email info@casp-arts.org with your name to register.
