Very excited to volunteer as a photographer with The AIGA West Texas Future Chapter for Design to participate in Help-Portrait Lubbock this Saturday!

The goal of Help-Portrait is to find people in need, take their picture, print their picture and then deliver it—free of charge. Help-Portrait is about GIVING the pictures, not taking them. These portraits aren’t for a portfolio, website, or sale. It’s about giving people who otherwise couldn’t afford photography, a chance to capture a moment, a memory…and a whole lot more.

Trick-Or-Treat! Screen-O-Ween! At CASP's Print Studio (1106 5th Street), come & go between 1-5pm, Saturday October 27th!

Come print your own pillowcase (or use one of ours!) for a unique candy collecting bag to use on the 31st and then for naptime fun! 

Only $5 if you bring your own pillowcase (or t-shirt) or $10 to print on a CASP pillowcase or t-shirt.

“Fun fact: Director Louis Malle was only 24 when he made this film.

Fun fact 2: We'll do French things like eat cheese and drink wine.

Fun fact 3: One of Malle's friends suggested he go talk to Miles Davis who was in town for a performance about scoring the film. After a brief conversation and story overview Miles and his musicians IMPROVISED the whole score as they watched the film.

Fun fact 4: Jeanne Moreau was an incredible French actor and absolutely beautiful(her beauty is irrelevant to her skills or person however pertinent for this anecdote). Louis Malle insisted on filming her without makeup and because of that the film processing house REFUSED to make a print of the movie, out of fear of showing her without makeup! Louis Malle talked them into it and his decision was correct, she bares her soul magnificently in a raw and powerful performance. Can't wait to share this movie with you all!!!”

I'm really excited about this meeting too, as its being co-hosted by someone amazing who has personal stories about some of the places & people mentioned in this book!

remember: there will be no quizzes or tests, no participation points to count. just booze & books & friends & a great place to meet!
